HEALTH SUMMIT 2012
Redefining Urban Health...
Health Summit 2012(HS ‘12) will be an academic simulation of a health committee, where college students of varied fields gather to ideate solutions for the health problems plaguing our nation and state.
HS ’12 will be one of the first of its kind to be held in our country. Its concept arises as an extension of Model-United-Nations (MUN’s), where students take the role of international delegations of the United Nations, to come-up with resolutions for real-time global issues.
HS ’12 seeks to provide the medical student fraternity as well as students from non-medical backgrounds a comprehensive introduction to national and regional health issues. It will also encourage the students to assume leadership roles and come-up with innovative solutions to tackle the public-health problems of our state. The resolution/report brought about by the committee will be forwarded to the Department of Public Health and Family Welfare, Government of Tamil Nadu (DPH)/Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, GOI (MOHFW)/ Medical Council of India (MCI)/World Health Organisation (WHO).
The topic for this year's summit will be:
‘TACKLING THE CHALLENGES FACING URBAN HEALTH’
